NOTHING IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN AN IDEA WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE IDEA.

Ruling the country entails carrying out a huge responsibility for every citizen. All that matters is to look after people despite their political and religious affiliations. The primary fiduciary responsibility of every president or prime minister is to protect the nation; ensure stability and prosperity of everyone regardless.
In a democracy, the same way it is in the monarchy, the ruling elite takes care of itself at the expense of the people who put them in power. Some progressive ideas are suppressed, especially if the source is someone or an organisation that is not sympathetic to the looting of the ruling party and oligarchy.
Ideas can destroy the power of the leadership. An example, I would like to point out is that some African presidents who are expected to be motivated and lead their people honestly and diligently consider their pockets and stomachs first. They reach their personal and family goals, before serving the aspirations of the citizens.  That is why they end up fighting when it is time to elect a new president.
Perhaps, it should be stipulated in the country’s constitution that at least 85% of the majority votes should be reached by a party in the national elections before a certain president could be charged after their term of office. The fear of prosecution for the horrible deeds African presidents commit is halting progress. Can anyone explain the ignominy of some rulers who think that only their ideas remain fresh and relevant even after many decades in power that there is no other brilliant person to take over the high office?
In South Africa, one of the greatest and intellectually gifted, a Westminsterian by training and enculturation while smoking a Scottish pipe evoking some whiskied Shakespearian allegory of African Renaissance was recalled. No blood was shed. Perhaps, the “pipe dream” had not enough wind to be puffed in that direction.  Had no balls to challenge his distractor!
A new don’t-touch-the-South-African-Communist-Party ideologue came to be the President without any suggestion of grand vision for Africa and the poor. He is now famous for murdering “the young lions” because he needs theirs skin to concoct the second term in office. There comes a charlatan who signed the death warrant of President Murmur Gadhafi who spoke highly of United States of Africa under the tutelage of Pan Africanism, African Nationalism and Black Consciousness. Perhaps, the article should read, “Nothing is dangerous than having your ideas sponsored in London or in D.R.C”.

HAVE FIGURED OUT THE SECOND HEAD FAKE?

Many people have made it to the top because they are second head fakes. When one is at the top it is difficult to determine whether this one has got the credibility and capacity until a fat lady (corruption) sings. Franz Fanon once warned the Africans about the hidden and dangerous agenda carried by the national bourgeoisies. This article is not intended to give a length prose on who are the second head fakes, but a scant idea about who made it to the top without sweat and blood and what they are doping now that they have reached the stars.

This reminds me of an African folklore. There was a meeting where the different types of birds sat and bragged about each other’s ability to fly high into the sky. There was a competition of who is king. They sat a race, which would determine the king. The rules were simple, “the one who soared the highest was to be crowned the king. There was this small bird, which always hides itself on the ground and does not have the power to fly long distance.
Much to the surprise of others birds, he said “I will be the ‘King of Ravens’ today”.  No bird could believe him. He was into this race knowing that he had something mischievous rolled up in his sleeves. About 300 metres into the sky he land on the shoulders of the giant eagle.  The eagle soared into the depth of the skies. Somewhere at the top when everyone had reached their best the eagle was alone high up there. The eagle shouted, “I am King of Ravens”. Everybody was convinced really the eagle is big and powerful and deserves to be the king.

The sleazy and slick bird shouted on top of the king, “Because I am tiny and had gone far ahead no one has seen me. I am King of Ravens.” The eagle was both angry and surprised. He tried but the small bird went further for 300 metres above the eagle’s reach. The morale of the story is that do not look further than your television screens to see who is the sly raven who corrupted the people to the top. Look at what happens when these second head fakes do to their constituencies who voted them into power.

MY WEDDING DAY..

John Basele and Hortence Banza are getting married today at 10:30 AM!!

Marriage is something very special in life. It resembles a divine institution. Men are given a privilege of leading, sponsoring and managing. The important resources that govern the institution of marriage are comfort, stronghold, good understanding, vision and strategy to achieve your goals. The policy that directs the function of marriage is love, harmony, respect and trust.

Women are a gift from God. Men should learn to love and protect this wonderful gift. As living gift a woman must learn to observe and actively engage with the policy that governs the functionality of the institution of marriage. Of course, getting married is for men a sense of purpose in life. They joy of marriage supersedes the joy of a captain of a lost ship, which finally gets its direction.

A good thing about marriage these days one gets a choice in terms of whom you are tying the knot with. I have chosen my beautiful, respectful and loving women “Hortence Banza”.  She is now “Mrs Hortence Banza Basele”. Oh, what a delightful transformation!

There is a Xhosa or Zulu, which goes, “ukwanda kwaliwa ngumthakathi”.The French put it magnificently, “le mariage est une bénédiction de Dieu” in Swahili”Dowa ni Baraka kutoka kwa Baba Mungu”,In lingala” libala eza lipamboli ehuta epa ya Nzambé’’ which means marriage is a blessing from God. Where God has willed nothing can be a deterrent. In Sonnet 116, William Shakespeare speaks of the marriage of true minds. Here he talks about love, which cannot change. It is supposed to be constant through any difficulties.
True love does not dwindle with time, instead it lasts forever. I did not get married only to sustain the integrity and credibility of my love for Hortence, but to fulfil the biblical prophecy, “the man shall leave his family and get married to lady once they will be one flesh”.  Today, 03.07.2012 is really a good day for me because I got married in court in order to have legally binding honour, which is also written boldly in heaven in mighty book of God.

In fact, I have a strange yearning to be a good father:  to care and support my children unlike many men who after a minute dispute run away to families that are supposedly not fighting. Where will you find a happy family these days? I have been very uncomfortable with being single. Now I am now fulfilled man. I will remain “an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken”. Thanks God!!

I AM....

I am a married person who thought had always been living a bourgeoisie life in the palace of the Democratic Republic of Congo. I thought of myself a Christian Prince “who will inherit the kingdom of God”. Not until I got married that I have seen the heaven on earth.
Marriage to me has been a revelation of the divine connection, a symbolic cord which tied myself to my original place in my mother’s womb. Marriage symbolises rebirth. When I was young, I lived my life as a boy and now I an adult I have thought critically about preserving my essence.  Getting married has given me a sense of purpose into my life.
I am liberated from the mind of baggage, the earthly bondages of a single man. I am now focusing on the task at my hand – to be a father. To breed the Basele offsprings: children who will bear my name and my genes. I have to adopt a new mentality; assume responsibility; lead a perfect life. For the Father in Heaven will guide me. I will pray Him even when I am walking in the valley of darkness because I have done something that God desires of men.
Without getting a life partner my value was less comprehensible. I have been blessed! Currently, I am focusing on my studies in PR doing my postgraduate at Cape Peninsula University of Technology with a strong vision and conviction to rise up for my family.  I am approaching my books with an open mind. I have been struck by the gracious lightening of maturity!
There was a time in my life when I did not know who I was but because of surfing through the turbulence of cumbersome life.  I now know who I really am. I am not a "wannabe." I can also do better in life because the education is a key to success. I am leading a life, following in the footsteps of good fathers out there. I live to be a good father and a good husband. Marriage to us is an element of unity, a complementary and everlasting engagement of purpose.
